Yueyang Changling Equipment Research Institute Co., Ltd. was restructured from the Equipment Research Institute of Sinopec Changling Refining & Chemical Company. The company is located in Yueyang City, Hunan Province, on the shores of Dongting Lake and along the Yangtze River. It lies to the north of the Yangtze and to the south of the Beijing–Guangzhou Railway, adjacent to National Highway 107 and the Beijing–Zhuhai Expressway, enjoying convenient water and land transportation. The facility covers an area of nearly 30,000 square meters.
After more than thirty years of development, the company now boasts eight specialized technical fields: rotating equipment condition monitoring and fault diagnosis; energy‑saving assessment and the development of energy‑efficient equipment; corrosion assessment and protection; industrial water treatment; equipment cleaning; pressurized leak sealing (including plugging and tapping); thermal insulation lining; and refining and petrochemical additives. Currently, the company serves as a director unit of the Equipment Fault Diagnosis Branch of the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering, a vice‑presidential unit of the Hunan Provincial Society for Equipment Fault Diagnosis and Failure Analysis, a director unit of the China Cleaning Association, the Quality Monitoring Center for Chemical Corrosion Protection in Hunan Province, a member unit of the Sinopec Heating Furnace Energy‑Saving Assessment Center, and a high‑tech enterprise in Hunan Province.
The company boasts strong technical capabilities, with a total of 102 professional and technical personnel, including one professor-level senior engineer and 20 senior engineers. It also counts two Sinopec Group experts recognized for their outstanding contributions in technology and management, two discipline leaders within the Sinopec Group, and five science and technology experts from Yueyang City. The company has published two monographs, authored over 200 peer-reviewed papers, and had more than 40 research achievements awarded national and provincial/ministerial-level science and technology progress prizes, while securing eight national patents.
In recent years, the company has focused on market demand and intensified efforts to commercialize its research findings. It has successively developed a range of advanced energy‑saving technologies, including cleaning for welded plate heat exchangers, ceramic filter element cleaning, boiler cleaning, FeS removal, super‑cleaning, plate‑and‑shell heat exchanger cleaning, filter element cleaning, long‑life heat pipes and combined air preheaters, retrofitting of waste‑heat recovery systems, CAS aluminum‑magnesium insulation technology, nano‑insulation materials and thermal barrier coatings, as well as vacuum system leak detection and sealing techniques. In addition, it has introduced cutting‑edge environmental protection technologies such as nano‑air flotation wastewater treatment, scum dewatering, sludge drying, and VOC leak detection. The company has also pioneered new technologies and products—such as gamma‑ray scanning and diagnostics, carbon‑fiber reinforcement, pressurized tapping and sealing, and novel high‑efficiency decalcification agents—that are at the forefront of both domestic and international standards, placing it among the leaders in its industry.
The company’s technologies and products have been successfully deployed across more than 30 major petrochemical enterprises, including Sinopec, CNPC, CNOOC, and the Shenhua Group, as well as metallurgical firms such as Xianggang Steel, delivering excellent results and earning high praise from customers. A robust quality and safety management system has enabled the company to obtain QEO certification.
